What could be more exciting than Grandfather helping his Grandson and Son-in-law in building a boat that we could use to travel to Alaska and back (up the inside passage). Never in my life have I dreamed that this project could be done in my lifetime. One day John approached me and said Pop, David and I decided to build a boat and would like you to participate in the construction with us. I was overjoyed that I have a chance in my retirement years, to help with the construction of this boat. When David doesn't have school he calls me and asks me - "Grandpa, can we go fishing?" And how can I say no to my Grandson. I really enjoy going fishing with David and it is a bonus when John is able to come with us when he can take some time off of work. I thank God that He has given us such a blessed family, My son-in-law John and daughter Nancy and grandchildren David and Melissa. I pray that God will grant me healthy days to see the completion of the boat and to be able to use it with my children. So far the boat is coming along good without any complications. When John has free time from work we continue with construction of the boat.
