We thank all of you for your words of encouragement.

Here's a "friend" comment.

Being of 100% Norwegian descent requires that I own at least two boats (or else they kick me out of the Sons of Norway).

I've never found the time to build a boat, but it's always intrigued me, must be the Norwegian thing.

This is a noble undertaking. Having worked in the Halverson family business with my grandfather Carl, and my father Gene, my advice to you David is to enjoy this time with your father and grandfather. This is the type of project that you will be able to tell your grandchildren about. It is a rare opportunity.

I've had a 1956 molded-plywood, two-cockpit runabout in storage for two years. This boat was originally used by the Okauchee, WI sheriff's department to patrol Okauchee Lake. We purchased it, along with original trailer, from the family of the man who used it to patrol the lake. This weekend, she'll go "bottoms up" to begin restoration. My son Brady and I will be the restoration craftsmen.

Thanks for the inspiration. We'll take and send pictures. We're expecting a salmon fishing invitation sometime soon!

Best regards, Brian

Brady's BIG Fish
Brady caught the fish, I caught the dog (as usual).
